Bigger Bucketloads of China Clay

A new Volvo L45F wheeled loader has been supplied to Goonvean Limited to handle the finished dried china clay product at the company’s Trelavour Works near St Austell in Cornwall.

Joining three existing Volvo L40 loading shovels, the slightly larger L45F was needed for increased productivity around the plant loading bulk sided lorries and containers with pelletized china clay.

“We were very impressed with the manoeuvrability of the L45F and the ease at which it could negotiate the tight turning areas within the works. Furthermore we have had a long and generally good experience running Volvo shovels since the mid- eighties when we took our first Volvo 4200 loading shovel,” said production manager Dave Perks

Specifically for Goonvean Ltd, the new L45F has been equipped with a 1.8m³ general purpose bucket, reversible cooling fan, a Dustbuster filter for the engine air intake and a Prolec weighloader.
