• How do I search nationally?

  Your location sets where you are. You can use the first part of your postcode, ie M50 or SG13 or you can use your town or city. If you search without changing 'Distance' then your results are national. You can reduce the distance the vehicle is located using the 'Distance' tab.

• How do I find Private ads?

  Private ads are still distinguishable through search, just add Private to the keyword search, ie "Transit Tipper Private"

• How do I filter my results down?

  Our users have fed back, and the quickest way to find a van/truck is to use the key word (ie Transit Tipper) and then use the filters to adjust price and distance from you.

• Keywords

  Keywords are used across the commercial sites as the stock listed for sale is vast and varied. You can be very general and search 'Tipper', or you can be very specific and search '2004 Daily Dropside', either way, you can then refine the results using the tabs on the left of the results.

• How can I send feedback on the new site?

  We are very keen to hear all feedback, please tell us what you think by using the button above.

• Why have you changed the site?

  We have changed the site because the technology of the old site was over ten years old. We have to look forward and make changes which will help Auto Trader remain the number one motoring website for the next ten years and in doing so have added far greater search functionality to allow you to find the best plant to suit your needs.

• If I click on an advert now it is a full page instead of a pop-up. Why?

  Our customer research showed that the majority of people preferred a full page when looking at details of a vehicle. However you can still open vehicle details in a new window, simply click on the 'Show details in a new window' link in the bottom left hand corner.

• Why does it look so different?

  The new website brings in loads of new search features, like keyword search, gallery view and part exchange. This change didn't fit in to the old look and feel, so we have given our vehicles a much needed face lift!

• Why has the navigation changed?

  We have altered the navigation based on extensive analysis of our visitors' behaviour. We have tried to group content and services more logically and neatly to provide an optimum experience.

• What internet browser works best?

  The new Plant Trader site has been tested in all major browsers and will work fine in them. For optimal performance however please note that Firefox 3.X, and Internet Explorer versions 7 and 8 are the most effective.

• Can I go back to the old Plant Trader website?

  There is no access to the old site any more, the old site has had a much needed facelift!

• What about my details?

  If you registered with our old site, your username, password and 'My Trader' area is still valid.

• Finding and reporting a bug or glitch

  In the unlikely event that you discover a 'bug', glitch or something wrong with the site, please use the feedback form provided - we really do read every piece of feedback and we appreciate your help.
